Mungo and the Spiders From Space
I love this book. I actually surprised myself by loving it because it reads like a comic book, a genre for which I have never developed an affinity. The text in this book is marvelously written. It is so enticing and imaginative that it almost seems like a team of authors put it together seamlessly. How can one person be so immensely creative?! I don't have the answer, but Timothy Knapman manages to do it with this one of a kind book.
Meet Mungo, a space-loving boy whose mother gifts him a tattered book,
Galacticus and Gizmo SAVE THE UNIVERSE!
, she picked up at a garage sale. She knew he would like the cover...
...and like it he does!
Amazingly, Mungo finds himself assisting Captain Galacticus as he attempts to "foil Dr. Frankenstinker's dastardly plan to rule the universe..." all the while trying to keep tight reins on a gnashing-slashing gobblebeast! (It sounds like it could be confusing, but this is a clear, smooth story that is action packed and just right for every little adventurer you know. I really enjoy reading it and I think you would too.)
I don't want to give the whole story away, but I'm willing to bet that, just like Mungo, you and your children will find the book, well, pretty absorbing!
This book is selling for $7.19 on Amazon right now in hardcover. It is a very nice, colorful, oversize book.
