every person has an imaginary bucket and we feel good when our buckets are full. 

Compliments, satisfaction from a job well done and helping others

 are among the many ways our buckets are filled.  Buckets can be dipped, too!  

Stress, conflict with others and disappointments are some ways our buckets can be depleted.

by Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer

is the best one out there for younger kids. 

The illustrations convey strong feelings, good and bad, very well 

and the bucket filling/bucket dipping concept is explained clearly and memorably. 

This bucket-filling terminology is a very positive thing for kids and having a picture book lay it all out for you makes it so easy to teach as a parent or teacher!
